Back to Lesson #1
On to Lesson #3

On October 10, members of the Woodturners of SouthWest Florida held the second of four Saturday morning classes to introduce the fascinating art of woodturning to teens in the Fort Myers area. After reviewing the safety procedures learned in the first lesson, and observing the sharpening procedures for tools, this students moved on to turning their own "finger snap" tops. Basic spindle turning techniques were used, along with a specialty "chatter tool" for decorative end grain surfacing, and brightly colored tops emerged. Next week, we'll start on small bowls.

Volunteers from the WSWF for the 2nd week's class included Bob Gerald, Sy Plonsky, John Gerald, Frank & Cheri Bauer, Barry Finver, and Ernie Dunning, Chris Nirenberg, Steve Duncan, Ray Seguin, and Russ Watson.
